Puerto Vallarta: Lugar de maravillas

El presente blog es parte de un proyecto escolar en el cual hablaré de un lugar turístico y cultural de México. Exploraremos sus principales puntos de atracción, su flora y fauna, cultura, tradiciones, costumbres, vestimenta, gastronomía y religión.






Historia:

Puerto Vallarta es un municipio y ciudad turística en el estado de Jalisco, México, situado en la costa del Océano Pacífico. El lugar fue descubierto por primera vez por los colonizadores españoles en marzo de 1525, pero fue fundado oficialmente el 12 de Diciembre de 1851 por Guadalupe Sánchez Torres, su esposa Ambrosia Carrillo y algunos de sus amigos bajo el nombre de Las Peñas de Santa María de Guadalupe, sin embargo, el 31 de Mayo de 1918 es elevado a municipio y el 5 de Junio del mismo año su nombre es cambiado a Puerto Vallarta en honor del jurista y ex gobernador del estado Ignacio L. Vallarta. Finalmente, el 31 de Mayo de 1968 llegó a ser una ciudad.

This blog is part of a school project in wich i will talk about a tourist and cultural place of México. We will explore its main attractions, its flora and fauna, culture, traditions mores, clothing, gastronomy and religion.





History:

Puerto Vallarta is a municipality and tourist city in the state of Jalisco, México, located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The place was discovered first by spanish colonizers in March 1525, but it was oficially founded on December 12, 1851 by Guadalupe Sánchez Torres, his wife Ambrosia Carrillo and some of their friends, under the name of Las Peñas de Santa María de Guadalupe, however, on May 31, 1918 it was elevated to a municipality and on June 5 of the same year it´s name was changed to Puerto Vallarta, iin honor of the jurist and former governor of the state Ignacio L. Vallarta. Finally, on May 31, 1968 it became a city.
