Customs and traditions:

When we talk or think about Puerto Vallarta, the first thing that may come to our mind are the beaches and nightlife, but there is much more than that. Mexico is a country where indigenous cultures mix with Spanish culture, which gives rise to countless wonderful customs and traditions.

May holidays:

During the last week of this month, cultural and entertainment activities are carried out, such as: live concerts, theater performances, art exhibitions and sports competitions.

 

Processions of the Virgin of Guadalupe:

During the first 11 days of the month of December, thousands of people travel to the cathedrals of this city to participate in the long processions, they also enjoy the music, dances, antojitos and delicious desserts.

Puerto Vallarta Jazz Festival:

At this festival you will be able to hear many wonderful musical performances, from internationally famous musicians to beginners and unknowns. Participate in the great concert prepared to receive the spring equinox!

Religion:

In this place the majority of people are devout Catholics, proof of this are the festivals in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe and the beautiful Nuesta Señora de Guadalupe church, wich was built in 1918.

Clothing:

 The city of Puerto Vallarta is located in the state of Jalisco, in this state the typical clothing for men is the Charro suit, this suit is made up of a hat, jacket, vest, long sleeve shirt, tie, girdle, pants, belt and boots.

As for female clothing, the typical women's costume is called Adelita, it can have a wide variety of colors. It can be made of a single piece or a shirt and skirt, topknot, hat and boots.

These same garments are those used in typical dances such as the Jarabe Tapatío and equestrian competitions.

Flora:

In this region of the state the flora and fauna is very varied, the jungles that border this city have various types of wood, from hard to fine for the manufacture of furniture.   

There are also a large number of fruit trees such as palm trees mango, soursop and avocado.

                       

Fauna:

This wonderful place is the habitat of many different species of animals, some of which we can see on land are the following: squirrels, foxes, deer, coyotes, wolves and wild boars.     

Some birds are pelicans parakeets, macaws and pigeons.

                                   

Animals in aquatic environments include many goldfish, turtles, humpback whales, dolphins and sharks.

                          

Gastronomy:

One of the gastronomic specialties of Puerto Vallarta is fish and seafood, these can be prepared in very different ways: fried fish, grilled fish, ceviche, pozole; In addition to all this, every year Puerto Vallarta celebrates culinary festivals such as Restaurant Week, in which a large number of restaurants participate.
